On Tuesday April 5th, Hearing Systems researchers went on an excursion to Eriksholm Research Centre to meet with the researchers from the centre.

The initiative started during the Hearing Systems presentation day and the idea is to exchange presentations from different projects in a more informal way and form possibilities for networking.
Head of the Advanced Algorithm Group at Eriksholm, Niels Henrik Pontoppidan, introduced the different working areas of the centre to the researchers from DTU.
Eriksholm Research Centre
is a part of Oticon focusing on cognitive hearing science, clinical audiology, eHealth and advanced algorithms to improve future audiology.
Head of hearing Systems, Torsten Dau, gave an overview of CAHR (Centre for Applied Hearing Research, CHeSS (Oticon Centre of Excellence for Hearing and Speech Science) EU networks and various collaboration partners.

Three poster sessions were conducted where there was a good opportunity to gain insight into each other's work.
Dorothea Wendt, who holds a  joint position at Eriksholm Research Centre and Hearing Systems, presented a poster of her project 'Analyzing sentence processing using the eyes'.
Besides the poster exchanges, PhD student Antoine Favre-Félix gave a demonstration of his project ‘Controlling a hearing aid by electrically assessed eye-gaze'. The results of his project are expected to provide basis for advanced signal processing strategies in hearing instruments that enable hearing aid to transmit sound coming from the direction that the listener is looking at.
The day ended with an interesting tour of Eriksholm, which besides the offices and laboratories consists of small castle.
