In September, the Hearing Systems and Acoustic Technology groups got two new support team members: Lab Manager Andrew King and Academic Technician Dana Gilbert.

Andrew King, originally from UK, did his BSc in Psychology at the University of Hull. Then he moved to Manchester where he completed an MSc by research in the Acoustic Research Centre at the University of Salford and finally a PhD in Audiology at the University of Manchester. The last three years he has spent living in Paris as a post-doctoral researcher at l’Ecole Normale Supérieure. After enjoying a placement in Denmark during his PhD, he was looking for opportunities to move back to Denmark on a longer-term basis. He now works as a lab manager in Acoustic Technology and Hearing Systems groups to help create new and exciting solutions to challenging research questions. In the future Andrew will take care of the IT support in both groups.

Dana Gilbert is specialized in electronics. She just finished her MSc in Physics with Particle Physics & Cosmology, although her main projects evolved around electronics and lasers in a quantum technology research group. Born in Essex (UK), but raised in Lyngby (DK), she decided to move back to England for her undergrad and therefore did her four year masters at the University of Birmingham (UoB). During her education at UoB, she learned that her passion lies in electronics and general hands-on work in research. This, combined with wanting to return to Denmark, made this position at DTU a perfect fit. Assistant Engineer Henrik Hvidberg has supported the groups for the last two years with various technical and creative tasks. In addition, the team includes Tom Arent Petersen, Assistant Engineer and IT support.
