On December 1, the 14th Audiological Research Cores in Europe (ARCHES) meeting took place. ARCHES is a European network of research groups focusing on hearing science, with the aim to stimulate networking, interaction, and scientific collaboration between researchers in the auditory field.

The meeting this year was arranged by Hearing Systems DTU and was held online on Zoom, due to the Corona situation. Despite some challenges with the online format, it was possible to conduct the meeting as planned with presentations from the different European research groups. In fact, the online format attracted 120 participants to tune in, which is about three times as many as compared to in physical meetings in previous years.

Each participating research group gave a presentation of their university, collaboration partners, and lab activities. This year, the research groups were given a special assignment: to make a video presentation about their research group and lab facilities. Between the group presentations and some individual project presentations there was also the opportunity to be in smaller groups related to the individual research interests.

ARCHES (Audiological Research Cores in Europe) is a European self-driven network of research groups focusing on hearing science.

The members are:

KU Leuven (Leuven, Belgium)

University Hospital Zürich (Zürich, Switzerland)
Carl von Ossietzky Universität (Oldenburg, Germany)
The Technical University of Denmark
 (Kgs.Lyngby, Denmark)

Ecole Normale Supérieure
